At SensaCine we had the opportunity to Mortal Kombat full movie speak with two of its protagonists: Lewis Tan, in charge of giving life to Cole Young, and Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jax. Seizing the moment, we wanted to face them in a duel. Of course, much lighter, peaceful and fun than those that appear in the film. What if your characters fought? Which champion would they choose? And if you wanted to know something about your partner, what would you ask? ‘Spoiler’: The thing ends up showing the good vibes between the two.
COLE YOUNG VS. JAX
Cole Young and Jax are allies in Mortal Kombat. The first is the protagonist of the film, a man who was born with a dragon mark on his skin and who must train to fight against the Outworld champions. The second also has the same symbol as Cole and is the one who helps him discover his true legacy.
“That’s something I don’t want to find out,” Tan responds when asked about a fight between the two. “Luckily, we didn’t have to do it in the first movie, but, you know, it could happen in the sequel. So we’ll find out in the next movie. ”
“Yes. I think it would be a pretty close fight, ”Brooks responds. “Cole is so fast […] The thing is, if Jax hits you a couple of times… It’s over.” As Tan well points out, his character has armor on his suit, so he has protection. “I would go for the face. I would definitely go for the face, ”Brooks resolves.
If Tan had to choose a champion to fight in the world of Mortal Kombat, it would be Mileena. “He’s so cool and I think he’d be crazy. I know things would get worse if that happened, but I was excited to see Mileena as the champion, “he says, imitating the Machiavellian smile of the character played by Sisi Stringer.
Brooks, on the other hand, opts for Raiden or Kung Lao, who are brought to life in the film by Tadanobu Asano and Max Huang respectively. “I loved Raiden when he was growing up […] Kung Lao is a very dynamic fighter. and the hat… I love the game with the hat. I love a good hat ”.
